Joey Vigil

Joey showcased his research on the Impact of Wildfire Smoke Particles on Mast Cell Activation at the Research and Creative Arts Symposium at CU Anschutz Medical Campus. He was also interviewed for his work and posted on Instagram through the Experiential Learning Center. Starting in January, Joey will start an internship with the EPA. Wow! Keep up the amazing work, Joey!

PBHL 3081 (Online): Health in the City

This course introduces students to urban health and the various factors of the physical, social and health environments that affect well-being and vulnerability of communities and neighborhoods in cities. Note: This course will include a weekly collaborative assignment, a high-impact educational practice, that foster student engagement with active and problembased learning. Although not required, it would be helpful for students to have completed a 2000-level course from the undergraduate program in Public Health. PBHL 3999 (Online): How Diseases, Ideas & Other Things Spread

Dive into learning about how diseases, learned behaviors and novel ideas spread throughout a population. Jimi Adams will be offering this spring 2023 elective online only. Click the link below for more information about this course and where to direct your questions.

Public Health Advocacy Day at the Capitol

This year, advocacy day will focus on climate change advocacy and capacity-building efforts.  Participants will also hear about other public health policy priorities including behavioral health, access-to-care and health equity. All participants are welcome to stay longer at the Capitol to see the House and Senate floor debates, listen into a committee hearing, and see our state lawmakers hard at work! A community engagement event brought to you by the Office of Research Education at the University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Campus will take place on Thursday, January 26 at Tattered Cover Bookstore.
