Joey showcased his research on the Impact of Wildfire Smoke Particles on Mast Cell Activation at the Research and Creative Arts Symposium at CU Anschutz Medical Campus. He was also interviewed for his work and posted on Instagram through the Experiential Learning Center. Starting in January, Joey will start an internship with the EPA. Wow! Keep up the amazing work, Joey!

This course introduces students to urban health and the various factors of the physical, social and health environments that affect well-being and vulnerability of communities and neighborhoods in cities. Note: This course will include a weekly collaborative assignment, a high-impact educational practice, that foster student engagement with active and problembased learning. Although not required, it would be helpful for students to have completed a 2000-level course from the undergraduate program in Public Health. This year, advocacy day will focus on climate change advocacy and capacity-building efforts.  Participants will also hear about other public health policy priorities including behavioral health, access-to-care and health equity. All participants are welcome to stay longer at the Capitol to see the House and Senate floor debates, listen into a committee hearing, and see our state lawmakers hard at work!
