The purpose of the NCI Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Fellow Transition Award is to encourage and retain outstanding graduate students recognized by their institutions for their high potential and strong interest in pursuing careers as independent cancer researchers. The award will facilitate the transition of talented graduate students into successful cancer research postdoctoral appointments, and provide opportunities for career development activities relevant to their long-term career goals of becoming independent cancer researchers.

The Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position funded as part of its NICHD-funded T32 population training program. The overall goal of the program is to create a cadre of future leaders in social science and public health disciplines with the subject matter expertise, interdisciplinary orientation, population perspective, and data skills to address and have an impact on pressing issues in demography, population health, and reproductive health.

HBS PhD alumna Charlotte Farewell and HBS faculty Jean Scandlyn were nominated for 2020 Colorado Public Health Association excellence awards. Charolotte was nominated for the Emerging Leader in Public Health award, an award is given to an individual early in their career serving in a public health capacity who has demonstrated outstanding initiative on behalf of the Colorado public health community. Jean was nominated for the Sabin Award, an award for achievement in the field of public health.
