If you plan to defend in the spring, the deadline to defend in the Spring 2022 semester is April 22, 2022.

Deadlines:

• Application for Graduation February 2, 2022
• Review of thesis/dissertation submission April 1, 2022
• Submit Request for Examination for April 8, 2022
• Thesis Approval preparation prior to Defense Day
• Defend thesis/dissertation April 22, 2022
• Submit Thesis Approval to Graduate School and Proquest May 6, 2022
• Complete exist survey via e-mailed link May14, 2022

Contact us at HBSAdminSupport@ucdenver.edu at least 8 weeks prior to the defense to discuss timeline, forms, and logistics. 

1. You must fill out both the "Dissertation and Prospectus Defense Committtee Identification Form" and "Prospectus Defense Scheduling Form." This requires a signature from your advisor before a prospectus defense can be set. 
2. Prior to 6 weeks before your prospectus defense, you should have sent a final draft every member of your commitee.
3. You must check in with the Graduate School to ensure all necessary forms are turned in for your prospectus defense at least 3 weeks in advance. 

If you are a first year student, please make sure you are registered for HBSC 7031, HBSC 7041, and HBSC 7061. Second year students should register for HBSC 7111. In addition, if you are taking any electives outside of HBSC, please contact Anne Marie at annemarie.summers@ucdenver.edu to ensure that tuition funding is correctly applied for the elective coursework.

Please make sure that you have registered for your dissertation credits for Spring 2022. To register, complete the special processing form and send the form to Stephanie Puello at the Graduate School at stephanie.puello@ucdenver.edu.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention is hosting a information session about the CDC - Public Health Associate Program (PHAP). PHAP is a paid, two-year, competency-based, training program with CDC for early-career public professionals with little to no public health experience. Students will learn about the BEST FIT model and the seven characteristics of candidates who are the ‘best fit’ for PHAP. All students who graduated within the last two years are encouraged to apply. The CDC will be accepting applications from prospective associates January 18–25. Hofstra University is hosting the 13th presidential conference on the Barack Obama Presidency April 19-21, 2023. The conference provides an opportunity to participate an interdisciplary scholary analyses with key insights from former administration officials and journalists. Submissions are open for topics listed on their website. The deadline to submit a one-page abstract and CV is February 28, 2022 and should be sent to hofculctr@hofstra.edu.
