Safe Return to Campus for Fall 2020

Safe Return to Campus Guidelines

As we are near the start of the Fall 2020 semester, please take a minute to familiarize yourself with the Safe Return to Campus plan that all students, faculty, and staff at CU Denver will be following any time we need to visit campus. Beginning August 17th, students will be authorized to be on campus. Before you go back to campus, you will need to do the following:

One-time: You must take the one-time SkillSoft training “CU: COVID-19 Return to Campus - CU Denver | Anschutz” before returning to campus for the first time. Once you have finished the training, take a screenshot of the certificate of completion on your mobile device. You may be asked to show this at a health check-in station.

Daily: Every day before coming to campus, you should take your own temperature and then complete a daily health attestation. You will receive a completion confirmation email, which you should be prepared to show at a health check-in station.

Health check-in station locations and hours are listed below. Allow a minimum of 30 minutes to check in.

While on campus: Visibly wear your CU Denver ID badge. Follow all safety protocols below, including wearing a face covering at all times, indoors and outdoors.

HBS Department Specific Hours and Rules

Beginning August 17th, our Administrative Assistant Sulastri Carr will be on campus from 2:00pm-6:00pm on Tuesdays. This coincides with HBSC 7011. Please note, Sulastri may work remotely on Tuesdays when there is not a need for an in-person presence or if the situation changes and we are no longer able to operate on campus. Outside of these hours, Sulastri can be reached by email and phone 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday. Our Program Assistant Anne Marie Summers will be available by email 7:30am-4:00pm Monday-Friday and available to meet over Zoom during these hours.

Room Access in North Classroom:

  • Graduate Lounge (Room 3017): The graduate lounge will be available on a reservation basis. Please email us at HBSAdminSupport@ucdenver.edu at to set up your reservation. Please give us at least two business days notice. We can have a maximum of two people in the graduate lounge at any time.
  • HBS Admin Office (Room 3018): The printer/copier in the administrative office will be available for use, maximum one person in the copier room at any time. When Sulastri is in the office, there will also be maximum of one student or faculty member in the office (in addition to Sulastri).
  • Kitchen (Room 3019): The kitchen will be closed for the Fall 2020 semester.

HBS Graduate Qualitative Research Working Group

This academic year, we (Jean, Hyeyoung, and Karen) will launch a Graduate Qualitative Research Working Group. This group will meet monthly to workshop empirical work (e.g., fieldnotes, transcribed interviews, proposal drafts, article drafts, etc.) over the course of the year. We see this as a valuable opportunity to support students at different stages of the qualitative research process. We also see this as a great opportunity to foster community and learning across cohorts. The group will meet on the 2nd Friday of each month from 12-1:30 PM on 9/11, 10/9, 11/13, 12/11, 2/12, 3/12, 4/9 and 5/14. For students who are interested in participating in the group, or those who would like more information, please email hyeyoung.nelson@ucdenver.edu or jean.scandlyn@ucdenver.edu.
