News and Announcements - HBS PhD Newsletter - August 6, 2021

Welcome all to the 2021-2022 academic year! In particular, please join me in welcoming our wonderful first-year cohort: Ashlyn, Emma, Laura, and Paulina. If you see them in the grad lounge, in class, or at a remote event, please take the time to introduce yourselves. We all have much to learn from each other.

Although we remain in unsettled times, there is much to be optimistic about for the coming year. I look forward to our first in-person colloquium speaker in 18 months, working from campus again, and seeing students and faculty in the halls. At the same time, I am grateful for the online tools we relied on last year and will continue to use moving forward, such as Zoom workshops and office hours that can facilitate broad and dynamic participation. Flexibility will be critical again this year as we adjust to the ever-changing epidemiological context. Let’s re-commit to being flexible and understanding with each other and with ourselves.

Have a great start to your year, and remember that HBS faculty, staff, and administration are all here to support you. If not before, I look forward to seeing you all at our September 12th HBS Fall Party (details below).
