Resources for Remote Research

No Cost for SPSS During Campus Closure

If you need access to SPSS for remote learning or teaching, CU is currently covering the cost of the license through August, 2020. To obtain your license, follow these steps:

  1. Open the OIT order page.
  2. Type in your first and last name
  3. Type in your CU Denver email
  4. Select software (SPSS – shows $0 charge)
  5. For the project, enter “Health and Behavioral Sciences Dissertation”
  6. Quantity is 1
  7. Press submit

To assist qualitative researchers working remotely, NVIVO has orginized a webinar focused on how the isolation measures impact social researchers who conduct face-to-face fieldwork, delaying or re-inventing methods to continue research, and how to adapt fieldwork methods and approaches for online data collection.

PhD Student Virtual Research Support Group

A group of HBS PhD students participated in a virtual research group on Thursday and found it was an enjoyable and productive time to talk about everything from where to find toilet paper and eggs to how covid19 is impacting research. The group has decided to meet every other week while we are physically distancing. The next meeting will be April 16th from 2-3 pm. All PhD students who would like to join are welcome - please use the link below to join in by Zoom. A huge thank you to PhD student Stephanie Chamberlin for coordinating the group.

Virtual Support Group

End of Year Graduate Evaluations

It’s that time of year again to complete your self-evaluation on your progress over the past year. Please email your materials to Anne Marie by April 30th.

Please include:

  1. The name of your advisor / dissertation director and any confirmed committee members
  2. A short statement about their major accomplishments this past year. You may include insight into their progress toward degree, any publications or paper presentations, courses taught, etc. Please note whether you have defended your prospectus.
  3. A current CV or biosketch

The faculty use these materials to see how you’re progressing in the program, and will send you a letter at the end of our review.

Fellowship Opportunity

TL1 Pre- and Post- Doctoral Fellowship Program Across the Translational Spectrum

The CCTSI TL1 Program provides Pre-Doctoral Fellowships for current PhD and clinical doctorate students and Post-Doctoral Fellowships for clinical trainees or post-graduate medical residents interested in pursuing clinical and translational team oriented research. The program integrates training with the development of clinical and translational team oriented research skills through coursework, workshops, an immersion experience with a translational mentor, mentorship and research. The CCTSI TL1 program is committed to building a diverse training program and strongly encourages applications from members of underrepresented groups.
