My name is Courtney Hasson and I am excited to join you all. My undergrad is in anthropology and nursing and my masters is in nursing. I am a nurse-midwife practicing at The Birth Center of Boulder. My research interest is in how obstetrical violence impacts decision making around pregnancy and birth practices. Our birth center works closely with an organization implementing care practices in remote regions of Nepal.
I am currently taking a break from everything and traveling with my husband, my two kids, and our dog Ellie in our van. We plan to be gone for 8 months. We left mid December traveling from Colorado all through Baja and our trip is supposed to take us all the way to Alaska, but not sure that will happen with the current situation. Now we are just quarantined in southern Baja enjoying the weather and beach while we wait.
