New to the lab?
The first thing to do is to complete these REQUIRED TRAININGS:
- Get the Resources tab added to your UCD access profile. To do this, ask Kim Hill in the main psychology office on the 5th floor of North Classroom. Once the resources tab is added complete the following trainings:
- Animal (IACUC) training; go here, click on Requirement for Conduct of Research Involving Animals, and complete steps 1 – 5.
- Get clearance for lab work from occupational health by completing the Initial Occupational Health Enrollment Form and emailing this form to Occupational.Health@cuanschutz.edu. In your email, explain you are in Ben Greenwood's lab at CU Denver downtown campus and are hoping to get clearance over email.
- Once steps 2 and 3 are complete, ask Ben to send you your PQ form to fill out.
- Go here for lab safety training. After logging in, Click CU Resources, then Training, then Start Skillsoft. Click Catalog, then University of Colorado – Courses. Choose CU Denver / Anschutz Medical Campus. Under Environmental Health and Safety, complete the Lab Safety training module.
- Hazardous Waste; go here. Follow steps above, but complete the Chemical Waste Management training module.
- For Biohazard training, go here. Complete Regulated Medical Waste, Chemical Waste Management, and Blood Borne Pathogens.
The second thing to do is to email Ben your Gmail email address so you can be added to the lab's Google calendar.
The third thing you should do is ask Ben or a current lab member for help mapping the lab's network drive (the BENlab drive) to your computer.
Finally, download Adobe and Endnote through the university. You'll be using these applications a lot! Here are directions for how to do that:
Go here to download the Adobe cloud (including Illustrator)
Go here to download Endnote
