Ph.D. in Health Economics Students

Ruqoyat Abdulsalam is an international student from Nigeria. She earned her BSc in Economics from the University of Lagos. Her research interests lie at the intersection of health economics and public economics. She is interested in developing models and researching the effect of public health insurance on health behaviors. She is also interested in the health outcomes of immigrants and natives and in linking health outcomes to productivity in Nigeria.

Richard Adjei-Boateng is from Ghana. He earned a B.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Cape Coast and an M.S. in Mathematics from Western Kentucky University. He is interested in using mathematical models and econometric techniques to study the causal impacts of health care interventions.

Connor Buchanan, earned both a B.A. and an M.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado Denver, and is currently lecturing recitation courses for the CU Denver Economics department. Additionally, he is researching the empirical relationship between the four-day school week and agricultural production in Colorado, as well as non-empirical work regarding educational pedagogy. Sharper Sikota holds a B.A. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Zambia and an MPH from Liverpool John Moores University, UK. His research interests primarily focus on economic evaluation, digital health, and measuring health outcomes. He is particularly interested in causal inference and the application of quasi-experimental methods to evaluate large-scale health programs. He is a Chevening alumnus and a Fulbright Ph.D. student in Health Economics.
