This past weekend, CLAS was well represented at the Triple Nine Society Conference in Denver at the Brown Palace. History Professor Tom Noel presented Denver: Mining to Metropolis, a lighthearted overview of the ups and downs of the Mile High City from the 1858-59 Gold Rush to today. And Professor and Chair of Physics Clyde Zaidins presented Ripples in Spacetime - Waves of Gravity, on how in 2015 the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) detected gravitational waves from the merger of black holes located over a billion light years away.
Plaza Building Is Closed
The Plaza Building will be closed through at least Dec. 6 because of a water line break and expected repairs. The Health Center, located in the building, will only offer Telehealth until further notice. Please check the Auraria Campus website for updates.
