The CU Denver Undergraduate Program in Public Health, along with the MSU Denver Health Institute, the Auraria Sustainable Campus Program, Community College of Denver, and the One World One Water Center will present a live virtual fireside chat with Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, acclaimed pediatrician, scientist, immigrant, activist, and author of What the Eyes Don’t See, a story about uncovering the Flint Water Crisis and leading recovery efforts. The event will discuss public health issues that adversely affect underrepresented and underserved communities within the United States and locally. There will be a live Spanish Interpretation to emphasize our intention of inclusivity and pre-recorded questions submitted by students in the Q&A session at the end where we spotlight student voices addressing issues with local health disparities in Colorado and opportunities for community engagement.
