Courtney Manthey-Pierce, who received her MA from the Department of Anthrology, coauthored an article with her thesis advisor, Anna Warrener, Assistant Professor. The article shows that Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome may have evolved because it provides protection against fractures. They tested this hypothesis by examining rates of fracture occurrence in female athletes. Courtney is also a Junior Fellow with the Human Biology Association.
