The year's Convocation consists of three events:

New Student Convocation Ceremony
9:30 – 10:00 am
The ceremony will be held outdoors on the Tivoli Quad. This is the main event, where an estimated 1,000 new students will be inducted into the university. The annual "CU" class photo is taken at the conclusion.

Playfair (Students Only)
10:15 - 11:45 am
A facilitator-led activity with icebreakers and interactive games for our new students to help connect with their classmates.

Convocation Lunch & Resource Fair
12 - 1:30 pm
Students return to the Tivoli Quad after the Playfair activity to enjoy lunch, music and games, and meet representatives from the schools and colleges, student support offices, and student organizations.

Note: Faculty and staff must attend the morning's ceremony to receive a ticket to return later in the day for lunch.               

Register now to confirm your participation and help us plan. Faculty and administration members are asked to wear CU Denver attire at the event. Faculty will not be dressing in academic regalia. If you are a faculty member and would like to receive a CU Denver Lynx polo shirt to wear at the event, we must receive your registration by Friday, July 30th. Lynx Together t-shirts will be available for staff at check-in for the event (while supplies last).
