Volunteer Opportunity with CU Denver COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics

Published: April 15, 2021

CU Denver is currently seeking volunteers to support equity vaccine clinic as part of the Vaccines for All plan, which aims to ensure that every person in Colorado has access to the vaccine no matter who they are or where they live. Auraria Campus has been working with City Council representatives to reach out to neighborhoods surrounding campus to provide vaccine access to BIPOC and Latinx community members.

The clinic will be held from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm at the Auraria Campus 5th Street Parking Garage (located at 650 Walnut Street) on:

•Saturday, April 17, Sunday April 18
•Saturday, May 15 and Sunday, May 16

Shifts will be about 4 hours and you can sign up for one or more. We welcome all volunteers, especially those who are bilingual in English & Spanish to help provide an excellent clinic experience to our neighbors.

Volunteer tasks at this event could include:

•Greeter/Wayfinder: This role will greet patients as they present to the vaccine area, direct them to the check-in station and an available vaccination station. This role will also help to ensure patients are at the correct clinic location.

•COVID Vaccine Card Prep: This role assists our clinic staff with preparing “COVID-19 Vaccination Record Cards” for reference and to remind patients of the date they will receive their second vaccine dose.

•Language Translation Services: This role will help non-English speaking and English spoken as a second language patients communicate with clinic staff.

•Observation: This role will help to check in on patients in their cars to ask how they’re doing following their vaccination.

•Check-Out Station: This role will provide patients with their COVID Vaccine Record Card and other materials about what they can expect post-vaccination.

If you are interested in volunteering please sign up via this link as soon as possible. Additional details about what to expect for next weekend’s clinic will follow next week.
