The English and Philosophy department’s podcast CultureKlatsch was recognized with a Colorado Humanities CARES Grant. Grant funds were provided by Colorado Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act economic stabilization plan of 2020. Check out this month’s episode of the podcast featuring the poet/activist John Murillo, discussing his timely book Kontemporary Amerikan Poetry with co-hosts Nathalia Velez Ryan and Philosophy’s Sarah Tyson. Murillo’s poetry speaks to “the visceral truth of the lived experience of Black and Latino communities facing police brutality.” The episode highlights not only the discussion with Murillo, but also student responses to his poetry.
