Mathematical and Statistical Sciences student Christina Ebben has been selected for a Fulbright award to Brazil. This nine-month grant, to begin in February 2020, will involve an independent research project at the University of Campinas IMECC (Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science) in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, on optimization methods to improve the Molecular Distance Geometry Problem. She will also take specialized classes while at the University of Campinas. Ebben will be the first ever student Fulbright recipient to go to Brazil for Mathematics.
