The Education through Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (EUReCA!) programs are excited to announce the 2019 cohort of EUReCA! Fellows. The EUReCA! Fellows program provides talented students from across the university a paid summer research or creative project under the guidance of a faculty mentor. The majority of Fellows (and applicants) come from departments and programs across CLAS, reflective of a college-wide commitment to engaging students in the scholarly enterprise.
The EUReCA! program has supported over 85 undergraduate scholars in 2019, through the Fellows program, the EUReCA! Work-Study program and an Entering Research internship for first year-students. "This year's Fellows are truly CU Denver's best and brightest, representing every type of student at our university across an amazing breadth of content areas", noted Dr. Lindsey Hamilton, Director of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities and organizer of the EUReCA! program. "The pool of applicants was very strong and all were deserving. I wish we could have supported every one of them."
Support for the 2019 Fellows program is provided by the Office of the Provost, the University Honors and Leadership Program, and the Colorado-Wyoming Alliance for Minority Participation. Furthermore, 4 Fellows were funded through Research Experience for Undergraduates supplement awards to existing faculty NSF grants awarded to Associate Professor Florian Pfender and Assistant Professor Brian Buma. For more information on support for developing REU supplement applications, please contact Lindsey Hamilton (lindsey.hamiltoin@ucdenver.edu) or Michael Ferrara (michael.ferrara@ucdenver.edu).
