Luck on China’s impacts to US jobs

Assistant Professor of Economics Philip Luck’s research on the impact of Chinese competition on America was cited in the Financial Times after he presented at the American Economics Association’s convention in Atlanta, GA, earlier this month. “China shock” has been an issue in the current talk of trade-wars and sanctions, but recent work Luck did with colleagues showed that vanishing manufacturing jobs are being replaced in parts of the US with service industry work.
