This past weekend, CLAS was well represented at the Triple Nine Society Conference in Denver at the Brown Palace. History Professor Tom Noel presented Denver: Mining to Metropolis, a lighthearted overview of the ups and downs of the Mile High City from the 1858-59 Gold Rush to today. And Professor and Chair of Physics Clyde Zaidins presented Ripples in Spacetime - Waves of Gravity, on how in 2015 the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) detected gravitational waves from the merger of black holes located over a billion light years away.
