Hamilton Bean, Associate Communication Professor, says that until more precise technology is officially adopted, emergency managers will have to be careful with when or how they deploy alerts. Bean was also interviewed for Knowledge@Wharton on the topic of Wireless Emergency Alerts in the aftermath of the ballistic missile threat false alarm in Hawaii on January 13.
