On May 8, the Physics Department hosted a group of ten students and two teachers from Florence High School (Florence, Colorado). The event started with a 90 minute session on the applications of calculus to solving physics problems, then Professor Martin Huber gave the group a tour of his laboratory. He discussed the ongoing research work on superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs). This included introducing the group to superconductivity and low temperature physics.
