Many scholars have articulated the importance of the reading/writing connection in education, but while faculty often assign reading (textbooks, journal articles, etc.), we typically do not spend much time teaching how to read effectively. This workshop provides instruction on strategies for effectively taking notes, critically engaging readings, and enabling students to synthesize and use source materials in academically proficient ways.
