Professional Development Funds – Applications can now be submitted through the website. The council will accept applications, including those by employees who are also students requesting payment for student fees. Budget: $2,500.
Event – Discussion of possible events to be held in Fall 2023. It was decided that an event would be held on Thursday, November 2 at noon. Food will be provided and Bingo will be played as an ice-breaker. Estimated budget: $1,000.
Surveys – Campus and Workplace Climate Survey (CWC) survey is a system-level survey that is distributed every four years to faculty, staff and students. Interim “pulse” surveys are also distributed, and one of those is now open for responses for those on the Denver campus. The Job Satisfaction survey, distributed by the Denver Campus Staff Council, will again be distributed toward the end of 2023.
HR Presentation to CLAS Staff – A representative from CLAS Staff Council may ask that CLAS HR clarify steps for hiring students and for staff to increase pay or title at the next scheduled meeting.
Dean’s Notes – The council revisited the idea of publishing work anniversary dates in the Dean’s Notes. The list of start dates for CLAS staff employees will be requested from CLAS HR.
Incentive Program for Staff – An incentive program for CLAS staff was revisited, with rewards possibly being a free parking pass, a Wellness Center pass, or a gift card. The program would involve staff nominating staff. Motivocity is a program used by another school on campus. The council will explore incentive programs further and prepare a request for approval of an incentive program. The program would be first-come first-served with a one prize per person limit for the first year. Budget: $1,000.
Executive Committee Meeting with the Dean – The Executive Committee’s next meeting with the Dean will be October 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Agenda items will include:
- Whether and what types of information other Deans receive about staff.
- Staff incentive program.
