Q. Can I count courses towards the SJ minor which are already being counted toward another major?
A. Yes, double dipping is allowed but not triple dipping. Make sure to get approval with your SJ advisor from your major's department undergraduate advisor.
Q. What are the requirements for students taking an independent study (regardless of the reason)?
A. For independent study, students must:
- have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- AND must be at least a junior to take the 4000 level independent study.
Q. What must a student have to qualify for a SJ internship/experiential learning course?
A. For an Internship student must have (a) a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA and (b) a minimum of 15 semester hours at UCD.
Q. How many hours of independent study may be taken?
A. A maximum of 3 semester hours of internship per semester are allowed and a maximum of 9 can count toward the 120 total hours (important depending on the major and requirements they may have for that).
