Assistant Professor
Political Science

Professor Navarro-Rodríguez is a political scientist interested in understanding the relationship between Indigenous peoples and the state. In her current work she examines how the extraction of natural resources affects Indigenous people's identity and political behavior. Prior to her work in Indigenous politics she researched issues of gender-based violence.

Professor Navarro-Rodríguez is looking forward to joining the department and teaching classes on Indigenous politics, the political economy of resource extraction, social movements, and gender and conflict. She also looks forward to working with students and mentoring anyone who is considering pursuing academia or research.
