Karen Breslin is a university professor, lawyer, and former long-time employee of the National Park Service. She ran for the US Senate against Michael Bennet, drawing 19 percent of delegates at the state assembly, a considerable accomplishment as a newcomer with no prior political experience and with minimal fundraising.
This time, Karen is running as a Democrat for the party’s nomination in the 2026 election. Her campaign focuses on stopping Trump’s abusive power grabs, ending the genocide in Gaza, demanding economic justice for working Americans, and protecting the environment. She is looking for student/volunteers to assist with monitoring current events and helping develop policy positions and responses to policy questions, including social media content, and to assist with campaign events and campus outreach. Volunteers will report to the campaign manager. The campaign is requesting a 4-week commitment at 4 to 6 hours per week.
