The Chicago International Model United Nations Conference (CIMUN) is one of the largest independent conferences for Model UN, where high school students meet together, acting as delegates or ministers representing different countries (in both historical and present-day committees and cabinets) to debate different topics. CIMUN is staffed largely by college students from across the country and beyond, serving hundreds of high school delegates each year to deliver an immersive and educational experience.
Staff members receive covered hotel stay and can be reimbursed for up to $200-250 for travel fare. Staff will attend the conference Dec. 5-8th and participate in relevant pre-conference meetings. For staffers, this is an opportunity to get experience volunteering for a nonprofit, operating in a multicultural environment, gain experience related to global interactions and political science, and so on. Staff is admitted on a rolling basis, but there are limited spots left, so interested candidates should apply as soon as possible!
