PRAXIS Student Editor Positions

Job Information: Student assistant positions (2 positions available) will be supervised by Jim Walsh, faculty advisor for PRAXIS. Pay range is $17-20 an hour depending on experience and lasts from December - May. These positions will work 5-8 hours a week, and preference will be given to students eligible for work study. 

Function: These positions will report to the PRAXIS faculty advisor who will make all final decisions on article selection and content editing. Students must work in conjunction with the faculty advisor, other student editor, and business operations coordinator to recruit applicant essays, prompt the editing process, supply copy edits, assist with content edits, and communicate clearly and respectfully to students, faculty, and staff involved in the publication process. 

Eligibility Requirements:  

  • Must be dependable, detail-oriented, flexible, organized, open minded, and professional.  

  • Must have solid written and oral communication skills.  

  • Must be willing to function respectfully with the faculty advisor, who is the final decision maker in the context of this project.  

  • Must be a current student enrolled at CU Denver.  

PRAXIS student editors are eager to recruit applicants for the PRAXIS academic journal. Our ideal candidates are seasoned writers with strong people skills, and are proactive, and organized. Student editors should be versed in zoom and sharepoint as avenues for sharing edits.
