Caitlyn Agee-Keys is a junior student in political science at CU Denver and currently a student research assistant. She loves that the program has pushed her to be curious about things she had never considered, and even helped her answer questions she didn’t know she should be asking! Caitlyn’s favorite part of being in the program is that it’s led her to be more investigative about her own life and the world around her, to question why society is the way it is, and to think critically about solutions to vital problems. In her time in the program, Caitlyn has enjoyed learning from professors like Harvey Bishop and Sasha Breger-Bush, who utilize teaching strategies that helped set her up for success and empower her with the tools she needed to learn and grow.
What advice does Caitlyn have for those who are interested in pursuing political science at CU Denver? "Do it! It’s a great program for anyone who is passionately curious about the world," she says, "and it’s great for someone who just wants to take a few classes and try political science on for size." She has also greatly enjoyed the opportunities the program has had to offer, such as her time studying abroad in Berlin! In the future, Caitlyn hopes to take further advantage of the student organizations and social activities in the program, and she hopes to apply her political science experience by working in sustainable urban design!
