Greetings CU Denver Political Science alumni!

As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of CU Denver, we’d like to better connect with our alumni across the Front Range and worldwide. In addition to this inaugural alumni newsletter, please see our recently updated website, which now features alumni profiles, faculty accomplishments, student achievements, and other updates including department events. We’re excited to share some recent developments and activities with alumni in this newsletter’s first edition.

I’d like to extend a warm welcome to our new Business Services Professional, Angie Schmitt, who joined the department last summer. Angie has a professional background in music education and holds a master’s degree in piano performance and pedagogy from CU Boulder. In addition to her own performing Angie enjoys teaching piano to aspiring musicians. Angie looks forward to connecting with more Political Science community members—including alumni—this year. She can be reached at Angela.Schmitt@ucdenver.edu. Other new additions to department staff are student administrators Jem Averyt [New Directions graduate student] and Paula Wlotko [Political Science major] who have done excellent work with marketing and communications, event planning, and updating departmental spaces on campus.

As the Political Science department seeks to better connect with alumni in the future, please consider sharing your email address here to continue receiving our alumni newsletter. We would also like to feature more alumni on our alumni profile page. You can view the CU Denver Political Science alumni profile page and submit your information here.

Sending everyone best wishes from the Auraria Campus, and we look forward to communicating with you further!
