During much of the previous year, Professor Betcy Jose has been on a productive research sabbatical, with funding support from the Peace Research Institute of Frankfurt. 

Her research topics include exploration into Russia’s intervention into Crimea and civilian targeting and self-protection during times of conflict.  

During her sabbatical, Dr. Jose was interviewed by the BBC several times regarding the war in Syria. 

She also attended a high-level human rights conference in Berlin Germany, where she met and engaged with multiple government officials from across the world.
