ABOUT:  Veronica Barela is a candidate for Denver City Council District 3. Veronica was born in La Alma/Lincoln Park, and has dedicated her life to residents of Denver. As the former CEO/President of NEWSED, she has celebrated culture, supported people as they sought home and business ownership, and revitalized neighborhood.  She is also an alumnus of MSU Denver Undergraduate and CU Denver M.P.A

ISSUES: Housing, Climate Change, Small Business Support, Culture, and Civil Rights.

Barela for District 3 is seeking interns who care about community politics, are passionate about democracy, and are interested in electoral organizing. This position could encompass many aspects of political organizing or be focused on a single project such as planning an event, digital strategy, or running a field operation. This position would go through the 2019 Municipal Elections in May, June Run-off and would be focused on community and voter engagement and advocacy work for the candidate. 

This position is unpaid, though college credit is available. Start date and hours are flexible, though we request a minimum of three months time commitment and 4-10 hours per week with some sort of set schedule, which we can figure out in person.
