Department: Physics Supervisor: Martin E. Huber/Michael B. Rogers Job Title: Undergraduate research assistant Job Location: North Classroom 3009 Job Description: Conduct research on superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) series array amplifiers (SSAAs) to determine their operating characteristics. Use experimental apparatus to apply source currents to and measure output voltages of...

Two part-time undergraduate research positions are available in the Department of Physics at CU Denver with Co-PI Dr. Amy Roberts. Dr. Roberts is part of the SuperCDMS collaboration, an international team searching for dark matter using ultra-pure germanium and silicon crystal detectors, operated at cryogenic temperatures, at the SNOLAB underground...

Job Description: The successful applicant will learn to load a large dataset in Python and analyze the results in the context of previous research in the Villano group. Some of the tasks involved are reducing pulse quantities to calibrated energy values, investigating the time delay of certain low-energy physics events,...

Department: Physics Supervisor: Martin E. Huber/Michael B. Rogers Job Title: Undergraduate research assistant Job Location: North Classroom 3009 Job Description: Conduct research on superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) to determine their effective area. Use experimental apparatus to apply controlled 2-axis magnetic fields to bare SQUID die at cryogenic temperatures. Use...

Department: Physics Supervisor: Martin E. Huber/Michael B. Rogers Job Title: Graduate research assistant Job Location: North Classroom 3009 Job Description: Participate in fabrication and characterization of nanoscale superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs). Fabrication requires operation of a thermal vacuum deposition system; characterization requires cryogenic measurements either in liquid helium or...

Prof. Villano is seeking a student to begin testing and constructing a neutron particle detector. Training will be included. Responsibilities include wiring and testing a prototype system, developing firmware, and analyzing final data from the detector.
