CU Denver’s Creative Writing Program is proud to celebrate the winners of the 2025 Lit Fest Creative Writing Scholarships!
CU Denver Creative Writing Winners Michael Gilland, Maeve Camille, and Kapri Riley from the English Department

Offered through the CU Denver Department of English and the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (URCA), these scholarships recognize outstanding student writers ready to take their craft to the next level. A committee of Creative Writing faculty carefully evaluated each applicant’s work and passion for storytelling.

Each winner will receive $1,000 to support their tuition and expenses for the annual Lighthouse Writers Workshop’s Lit Fest, taking place June 6–13, 2025—one of the nation’s premier gatherings for writers of all backgrounds.

As part of their journey, scholarship recipients will share their Lit Fest experiences and present original writing at CU Denver’s Research and Creative Activities Symposium (RACAS) in Spring 2026.

Congratulations to these talented Lynx writers! We can't wait to see how your stories inspire the world.
