CU Denver's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is proud to celebrate English Professor Wayne Miller, who has been named an Honorary Member of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society.
This prestigious recognition, awarded by unanimous vote of the Board of Trustees, honors Miller's "exemplary contributions to American letters and literature." He joins a select group of just 87 honorees in the society's 100-year history-luminaries such as Edward Albee, Alison Bechdel, Gwendolyn Brooks, Jamaica Kincaid, Ursula K. Le Guin, and Amy Tan.
In addition to this honor, Miller's poem "The End of Childhood"-the title piece from his sixth poetry collection, released this spring-has been awarded a Pushcart Prize. The Pushcart Prize is one of the nation's most respected literary honors, recognizing the best writing published in the United States each year. This marks Miller's second Pushcart Prize in three years.
At CU Denver, we believe in celebrating the achievements of our faculty, whose work shapes not only the academic community but also the broader world. Miller's recognition by Sigma Tau Delta and the Pushcart Prize highlights the power of literature to connect, challenge, and inspire. His success is a testament to the vibrant, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment we foster-where real people make real impacts.
