The Language, Literature and Culture (LLC) track focuses on the linguistic and cultural elements of Spanish as a world language. Students take courses in language skills, linguistics, literature, language for the professions, culture and have elective options in related fields. This is the recommended track for those whose primary interest is the Spanish language and its associated cultures, double majors, future teachers or those considering graduate work in Spanish.

2. Four courses (minimum 12 semester hours) at the 4000 level

3. Four courses (minimum 12 semester hours) of electives. A minimum of 6 elective credit hours must be upper-division (numbered 3000 or above) SPAN courses. The other six credits may be SPAN 2110, 2120, any SPAN course at the 3000 or 4000 level, or elective courses from a related field, with approval from the student’s SPAN major advisor. *The related fields include Linguistics, Latin American Studies, Comparative Literature, or Upper-Division courses in another foreign language. The minimum grade that can be credited toward the major requirement in related fields is C (2.0).
