A small number of teaching assistantships are available for graduate students. In order to be considered, the applicant must:
- be a current graduate student in the MA program in Spanish at UC Denver
- have a minimum GPA of 3.5
- have completed MLNG 5690, Methods of Teaching Modern Languages; enroll in the course during the fall semester in which s/he begins teaching; or demonstrate previous teaching excellence in college-level Spanish courses.
Scholarships
We have many scholarship opportunities available for qualified Master's students. Our department hires interested students as TA’s, earning between $3,864-$6,440 per semester (depending on the class taught). We also offer a departmental scholarship to our TA’s of $1,128 per semester, for up to 4 semesters. That means you could be receiving up to $15,136 per year to offset full time student costs.
