I am an instructor for the Mathematical and Statistical Sciences Department and currently serve as our Director of Service Courses. I have a passion for teaching mathematics to non-math majors and strive to improve the quality of our 1000 and 2000 level mathematics courses. Within the classroom I use a variety of teaching techniques including problem-based learning, technology driven application problems and inquiry based learning.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy working with mathematics students in a variety of settings. I serve as the faculty sponsor for an international 96 hour mathematics competition each Spring and also serve as a teaching mentor for the NOYCE scholars from the mathematics department and the new graduate teaching assistants.

My research areas of interest lie in mathematics education and best practices for teaching non-mathematics majors.
