Matt completed his Undergraduate education at the University of Rochester where he earned a B.S. in Biochemistry and a B.A in Psychology. As an undergrad, he conducted research on the physiological outcomes of various types of social stress and the importance of basic psychological need satisfaction in human motivation. He is applying to medical school for matriculation during the 2018-2019 academic year. During his gap year, Matt will be working with the Kilbourn lab on their exploration of chemobrain and their evaluation of the impact of the Caregiver Life Line Intervention on symptoms of psycho-social distress in phase 1 trial caregivers. Matt is also involved in Palliative Care research with Dr. Carolyn Lefkowits and Dr. Stacy Fisher at the Anschutz Medical Campus. In conjunction with his research positions, Matt is working as an EMT for Stadium Medical Inc. and a volunteer on the grants committee for the Ray of Hope Cancer Foundation. Outside of a professional setting, Matt plays the guitar, writes songs, and plays competitive tennis.
