Computer Labs

Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSS) Computer Lab and Classroom (NC1009B)

The BSS computer lab and classroom provides statistical programs for economics, psychology, sociology, political science, anthropology, etc. Lab space was available in two rooms, one for open computing (NC1009A) and one for teaching (NC1009B).

The public open lab area was closed permanently September 1st, 2023. However, the classroom will be open publicly when there are no class schedules during the 2023 fall semester. Current open schedule is 12:00-3:30 on Monday-Wednesday, 12:30-3:30 on Thursday, 11:00-3:30 on Friday

Students who need access to the computer and printing equipment during class hours and from next semester should use OIT computer lab (NC1206). The BSS lab will serve only as a classroom from 2024 spring semester.

English Computer Classrooms

The English computer classrooms are for writing/ composition classes in the English department. One lab is in KC114; the other one is in NC3010. Both classrooms each contain 10 laptops. These labs don't have open hours and are available only with course instruction. Access is provided as part of instruction, with card reader access for instructors only from the English department.

The Facility for Advanced Spatial Technology (FAST)​ Lab

The Facility for Advanced Spatial Technology (FAST) Lab forms the core of geo-spatial teaching activity at the University of Colorado Denver as a partnership between the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) and the College of Architecture and Planning (CAP). This multidisciplinary laboratory provides state-of-the-art GIS technology, including ESRI ArcGIS, open source GIS software and databases, remote sensing, GPS, and cartography. Learn more ->

Mobile Computing Lab

The CLAS Mobile Computer Lab has 24 laptops and carts for instructors to use in the classroom. Instructors can pull one of the carts into the classroom to assist with teaching. The lab is only available to classrooms in the North Classroom building.

The Zenas Hartvigson Memorial Math Education Resource Center (MERC Lab)

The MERC Lab’s primary use is for administering testing in mathematics curricula. For more information, including open hours, see more about the MERC LAb.

Mathematics and Statistical Science Department Lab

The department lab is normally open from 8-5 MWF and is used for general purpose computing in the department. The lab provides access to the Matlab and R software programs.

CLAS Media Learning Lab

CLAS Students can check out professional quailty lighting and camera kits. Students can also edit media projects with Adobe Creative Suites products. We are located in the Student Commons Building, Room 3009. We are open Monday-Thursday from 9 am - 5 pm. Creative Consultants are on-site to answer questions about equipment and assist with crafting finished projects.
