A paid year-round research program opportunity is available for 8-10 undergraduate students in the health sciences to participate in a mentored research program at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The program is focused on training students in the environmental health sciences. This includes research opportunities in biomonitoring of environmental exposures, particle-induced lung and kidney disease, wildfires and health effects, effects of chemical weapon agents and inhaled pollutants, environmental causes of cancer, environmental health policy, community-engaged research in rural Colorado regions exposed to extreme weather. The program is full time during the summer (40 hrs/week) and part-time during the school year (~10 hrs/week). Students in their Sophomore to Senior year are eligible.
The stipend is $19.29 per hour. You will be required to select a mentor based on research interests, develop a research project, complete the project, provide a final report and present a poster at a graduation luncheon. Students are strongly encouraged to find a research mentor from the list of available faculty. Drs. Bauer and Brown will assist students in the selection of research mentors.
