Jessica Loeffler, who is working with Andy Wilson at the Denver Botanic Gardens, received the award for CLAS Outstanding MS student for Fall 2025. This is the 7th semester in a row that a student from the Biology PhD or MS graduate program has been selected! 

Alyssa Hohort was named the CLAS Outstanding PhD student this semster. Alyssa is a student in the Integrative and Systems Biology Doctoral Program, advised by Ben Greenwood, in Psychology. Dr. Greg Ragland, Dr. Ben Greenwood (Psychology) and Dr. Chris Phiel were awarded an ORS Team Grant for their proposal "Maternal Exercise Reprograms the Epigenome to Shape Offspring Brain Health.”

A November, 2025 publication from the Tomback Lab, led by former doctoral student Laurel Sindewald and based on part of her dissertation, with several coauthors from UC Denver, UC Boulder and CSU.

"Identifying Alpine Treeline Species Using High-Resolution WorldView-3 Multispectral Imagery and Convolutional Neural Networks", by Laurel A. Sindewald, Ryan Lagerquist, Matthew D. Cross, Theodore A. Scambos, Peter J. Anthamatten, and Diana F. Tomback,  Biogeosciences.

Biogeosciences is a journal of the European Geosciences Union, and the paper was invited for a special issue on remote sensing for treeline communities.
