Ali Alghamdi, a Ph.D. student in Dr. Diana Tomback's lab, has published his paper, "Evaluation of Pre-Sowing Treatments on Seed Germination in Nine Acacia Species from the Al-Baha Region, Saudi Arabia," in the Seeds MPDI journal! Ali writes, "We tested sulfuric acid, hot water, and tap water treatments to break seed dormancy in native Acacia species. We found that some treatments varied by species; some responded well to acid soaking, while others responded to hot water, and some species showed no improvement, suggesting the need for further research on germination techniques. Given the ecological importance of Acacia species in arid land restoration, this research could support reforestation land management efforts." Congratulations, Ali!
