A Journey into Multi-omics: Applications in Environmental and Molecular Toxicology

Application and implementation of multi-omic strategies are of increasing interest across many scientific disciplines and fields, including molecular biology and environmental toxicology. However, combining multiple ‘omics data into meaningful analysis requires thoughtful experimental design and careful data interpretation to best describe these complex responses observed in biological systems exposed to toxic chemicals. Novel and emerging computational tools traditionally applied to the biomedical field for analyzing changes to microorganism communities and gene expression in response to treatment, hold great potential for elucidating the toxicological effects of a variety of contaminants and persistent organic pollutants in our environment on wildlife and human health. Join Dr. Lauren Garrett on this adventure into the exciting and fascinating world of multi-omic research!
