"Canaries in a Global Coal Mine: How Does the Changing Environment Impact Songbirds?"

Because of their unique physiology, life history, and behavior, birds can be seen as a bioindicator of ecosystem health. Indeed, in recent years, environmental change has led to massive declines in many species of birds. In this presentation, Dr. Ramos will discuss her research on the impacts of environmental pollution and climate change on birds through the lens of variation in response to these stressors, both within and between species. This variation has important implications for which species may be at greater risk and also whether adaptation to change may be possible.

Everyone is welcome to the seminar.
