Pollen Power: Nature’s Swiss Army Knife for Environmental, Pollinator Resources, and Geographic Insights.

In the microscopic world of science, pollen emerges as the ultimate multitool in my research. With its surprising versatility, I harness its powers to unveil biogeographic mysteries. Join me on a journey through time and landscapes as we use pollen to reveal past plant communities’ response to climate change and human activity over 17,000 years, decode the intricate complexity of pollinators amidst urban resource availability, and even employ it as a key to uncover the hidden whereabouts of items and individuals through geolocation techniques. Pollen is our compass, our storyteller, and our key to understanding the Earth’s concealed narratives.

Everyone is welcome to the seminar. For more information please contact Dr. Greg Ragland.
