ID Badge at the Business School

Published: Jan. 27, 2023

Dear CLAS Faculty and Staff,

Please see the announcement from the Business School below about their adjustment in policy regarding Badge Access to the Business School building beginning February 1.

If you teach in the Business School, have evening meetings in that building, or your students have night classes there, they will need to make sure their badges are Registered and Encoded with the Business School or they may get locked out of the building after 7 PM.

Please see the message from the Business School below plus attached instructions on how to register your campus ID badge and inform all of your faculty, staff and students accordingly.

Thank you,

CLAS Dean's Office

Faculty and Staff,

I hope your first week of the term has gone well. I want to remind all of you about the new requirements around wearing a visible ID that will go into full effect on February 1!

  • All faculty, staff, students are required to have (and visibly display) an official CU Denver ID badge; Bus School communications and processes align to this message
  • Starting February 1st, building hours will change
  • To access and enter the building after 7PM, and all-day Saturday and Sunday, A REGISTERED ID BADGE IS REQUIRED
  • Faculty and staff IDs are already registered. New lecturers may need to get your ID registered. You don’t need to do anything else; however, we need to direct our students to get their badge registered

Faculty teaching evening classes please notice that the building will be locked at 7 PM! This means if your students take a break outside they will not be able to get back in unless their badge is encoded!

We ask you to promote student awareness of the change.

FACULTY IN THE CLASSROOM:

  • Wear you ID badge visibly and consistently
  • Doors to the building will be closed after 7PM. If you have a guest speaker and they are scheduled to talk in your class after 7PM, you will need to take extra steps to meet your guest at the front door to let them in (NOTE: there will be no staffing at the front desk table after 7pm. The security guard is not available to let people in nor is that a part of his duties).  The same applies to Saturday-Sunday hours
  • If students leave your class to take a break or other, and need to return to class after 7PM, they will need their badge to gain access to the building.  Inform them of the matter

LET OUR STUDENTS KNOW:

  • Get a badge, wear your badge, register your badge.  WHY?
  • Beginning February 1st, you will need your registered ID badge to gain access to the building during certain hours
  • Go to the building lobby front entrance table to obtain the specifics of how to do; or, scan the QR code on attached flier
  • Questions?  Please direct to Malena Brohm or Buddy Gregory

THANKS.

Sincerely,

Dawn Gregg
