Ally Davidge is a master's student in the Wunder/Hartley lab studying the impacts of 1938 redlining policies on Cooper’s hawk occupancy in Denver, Colorado. She recently received the Integrative Biology Department’s travel award to visit an urban Cooper’s hawk expert, Dr. Brian Millsap, who has been studying a population in Albuquerque, NM for over 12 years. With the award, Ally was able to support a short residency which taught her how to survey for Cooper’s hawks in urban environments, considerations for running a field crew in the city, and how to bring some of the outreach ideas employed there back to Denver. Ally is incredibly grateful to her committee members and the department for this opportunity.
