Annelise Rue-Johns, a Ph.D. student in Dr. Brian Buma's lab (CU Denver Integrative Biology) has a recent publication in Northwest Science.  In this paper, Annelise and coauthors develop ways to estimate understory biomass in the forest floor, an important but very poorly constrained pool of carbon in temperate rainforest ecosystems - some of the most carbon dense ecosystems on the planet.
