Microbial nitrogen cycling in freshwater systems

Nitrogen cycling microbes play critical roles in maintaining ecosystem health by transforming nitrogen into usable forms for plants and animals and by minimizing nitrogen toxicity and pollution (e.g., wastewater and agricultural runoff). I will share some of my lab’s research efforts aimed at determining which organisms are responsible for nitrogen transformations in the environment, how they function, and what controls their activity.

Everyone is welcome to join the seminar, please complete the RSVP FORM to receive the Zoom link. Forms can be submitted any time before the seminar but not after 10:00 am the day of the seminar.
